Wilmington Police Arrest Man in Connection with Alleged Burglary

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have taken a man into custody following an alleged burglary in-progress on North Market Street.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 11:16 a.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to a report of a burglary in-progress in the 700 block of North Market Street. Upon arriving at the scene and conducting a brief investigation, police apprehended 24-year-old Muhammed Abubakar without incident.

Abubakar has been charged with third-degree burglary and theft under $1,500. Authorities stated that he also faced outstanding warrants upon his arrest. Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Abubakar was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further legal proceedings.
