Major Drug and Gun Busts in Back-to-Back New Castle Traffic Stops!

NEW CASTLE, DE — Two traffic stops conducted by the New Castle County Division of Police Active Crime Trends Team led to the seizure of firearms, drugs, and multiple arrests earlier this week.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., detectives stopped a gray Infiniti Q50 for a traffic violation in the Brookside Park area near Old Newark Road. A subsequent search revealed the driver, 23-year-old Ryan Harris of New Castle, was allegedly in possession of a loaded ghost gun featuring a 40-round high-capacity magazine along with 1,034 grams of marijuana. Harris was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a large-capacity magazine, possession of an untraceable firearm, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $122,502.00 cash bail.

The following day, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at approximately 12:18 p.m., detectives initiated a second traffic stop involving a gray Acura TL near Philadelphia Pike and Harvey Street in Claymont. Authorities allege the stop led to the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun, 84 grams of marijuana, 1.27 grams of crack cocaine, and $591 in suspected drug proceeds. The driver, 23-year-old Jaden Singletary of Claymont, was charged with offenses including possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, misdemeanor drug violations, and multiple traffic-related offenses. He was committed on $14,600.00 cash bail after being arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11.

The passenger, identified as 23-year-old Jagen Watson, also faced numerous charges. These included possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and providing a false statement to law enforcement. Watson was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed on $28,800.00 cash bail.

All charges remain allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Further details of the investigations have not been disclosed.
