WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have announced the arrests of two men in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred in late March.
On March 28, at approximately 2:38 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Bradford Street. Upon arrival, they located 24-year-old Santee Renwick suffering from gunshot wounds. Renwick was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. Detectives launched a comprehensive investigation, led by Detective Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division.
The investigation identified 20-year-old Quadre Wright and 18-year-old Amir Morris as suspects in the case. Wright was apprehended on April 17 in the 400 block of South Claymont Street without incident. Morris, already in custody on an unrelated matter, was indicted by the New Castle County Grand Jury on May 27.
Quadre Wright faces charges including first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and second-degree conspiracy. He is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,000,000 cash-only bail.
Amir Morris has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and second-degree conspiracy. He remains in custody at the Department of Corrections on $1,000,000 cash-only bail.
Police emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
