Fatal Collision in Greenville Claims Life of Pennsylvania Woman

GREENVILLE, DE — A tragic head-on collision in Greenville has claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman from Cochranville, Pennsylvania, while three others sustained injuries.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of May 10, 2025, on Kennett Pike, near Stone Brook Drive. According to Delaware State Police, a 2018 Hyundai Kona traveling southbound crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2025 Hyundai Kona head-on.

Linda Mahoney, a passenger in the 2025 Hyundai Kona, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she passed away two days later, on May 12. Her family has been notified. The vehicle’s driver, an 80-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized.

The 20-year-old driver of the 2018 Hyundai Kona and his 21-year-old passenger, both from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, were similarly transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting an in-depth investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.
