WILMINGTON, DE — A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate burglary incidents in Wilmington following an investigation by the police.
Officers from the city’s Uniformed Services Division responded to two burglary reports earlier this month. The first took place on March 10 in the 1400 block of North Dupont Street, while the second occurred on March 11 in the 1900 block of West 4th Street. These cases were assigned to Detective Thomas Rittenhouse of the Criminal Investigations Division, who later identified Darnell Miller as the suspect. Warrants for Miller’s arrest were subsequently issued.
On March 16, Miller was taken into custody without incident by officers from the Uniformed Services Division. He now faces a series of charges, including two counts of Burglary in the Third Degree, two counts of Theft Under $1,500, and charges related to Criminal Mischief and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony.
Miller was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $22,000 unsecured bail.
Authorities remind the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
