Utility Work Scheduled on North Mill Road in Chester County

Lane closures

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced utility work on North Mill Road in Kennett and New Garden townships. This is part of a $10.4 million initiative to enhance a 1.3-mile section of the highway from the Kennett Oxford Bypass to Greenwood Road.

A lane closure with flagging will occur on Monday, August 26, and Tuesday, August 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, between Cedarcroft Road and Line Road. Motorists should prepare for possible delays and plan additional travel time. All work is contingent on weather conditions.

This project involves major improvements, including milling and overlaying U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike), adding a third travel lane in certain sections, constructing sidewalks, and installing Dynamic Message Signs. Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, is the general contractor, with the project fully funded by federal resources.
