WEST CHESTER, PA — Roadway improvements will continue next week along Business U.S. 322 (High Street) as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) multi-year safety enhancement project in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township.
From Monday, November 17, through Friday, November 21, lane closures with flagging will be in effect on Business U.S. 322 (High Street) between Barnard Street and Lacy Street from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for lighting conduit installation. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and expect delays, as congestion is likely during work hours. All activities are weather dependent.
The $2.6 million federally funded project, managed by Marino Corporation of Skippack, includes new traffic signals at University Avenue and Sharpless Street, pedestrian countdown timers, LED luminaries, high-visibility crosswalks, and curb extensions designed to improve pedestrian and driver safety. The project also involves drainage upgrades, pavement restoration, and complete roadway resurfacing.
Construction is scheduled to continue through winter 2026, with work aimed at enhancing safety and modernizing the corridor’s infrastructure for residents, commuters, and pedestrians alike.
