TREDYFFRIN, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a live virtual public meeting for an upcoming project that involves the construction of a new bridge over Amtrak in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County. The bridge is set to carry a relocated N. Valley Road, and the project also includes intersection improvements at several key points.

This project is part of the second phase of the Paoli Intermodal Transportation Center Project. The first phase, completed in 2019 by Amtrak and SEPTA, included station improvements and enhancements compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The intersections slated for upgrades include N. Valley Road and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue), N. Valley Road and Central Avenue, and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Darby Road. The N. Valley Road-Central Avenue junction will feature a one-lane roundabout, while a four-way intersection is planned for U.S. 30 and Darby Road.

The public meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 17, starting at 7:00 PM. It will be conducted via Microsoft Live Teams, and PennDOT’s design team will deliver a brief presentation about the project before opening the floor to questions through the platform’s Q&A feature.

Attending the virtual meeting requires internet access and either a computer or mobile device. PennDOT is making provisions for individuals who require special aid or have specific needs. Those in need of assistance are encouraged to reach out to PennDOT Project Manager Mirlene Saintval at 610-205-6857.

For those unable to attend the meeting, a recording of the session and related materials will be made available on the project webpage after the presentation. The public can also provide feedback using the online comment form.
