WEST CHESTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced ongoing construction activities aimed at enhancing safety and traffic flow along Business U.S. 322 (High Street) in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township.
From Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11, motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging between Miner Street and Norfolk Avenue. Work will occur nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. Drivers are urged to allow additional time when traveling through the area, as delays are anticipated. All work is weather dependent.
The project includes a wide range of upgrades, such as new traffic signals at University Avenue and Sharpless Street, retroreflective backplates, modern LED lighting, pedestrian countdown timers, curb extensions, and high-visibility crosswalks. Additionally, the corridor will see drainage enhancements and complete pavement restoration, culminating in full resurfacing.
Marino Corporation of Skippack is overseeing the $2.6 million federally funded project, with construction expected to conclude in winter 2026. PennDOT emphasizes that these improvements are critical to ensuring long-term roadway safety and pedestrian accessibility in this busy corridor.
