According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, lane closures with flagging operations will be in place during daytime construction hours while crews repair sections of the roadway base along the Route 401 corridor.
Traffic will alternate through the work zone under flagger control, which could create intermittent stoppages and slower travel throughout the day. Motorists are encouraged to plan extra time, reduce speeds approaching the construction area, and seek alternate routes if possible.
Route 401 serves as a key east-west connector through northern Chester County, linking rural communities with major commuter routes and local business corridors. Drivers traveling through the area should expect periodic congestion during peak daytime hours.
PennDOT noted that all scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed or adjusted if conditions change.
