COATESVILLE, PA — Drivers heading west on U.S. 30 (Coatesville Downingtown Bypass) should plan extra time next week as daytime bridge railing work brings a lane closure to a section of the highway in Chester County from Wednesday, August 19, through Friday, August 21.

A lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 30 between Buck Run River and Old Mill Road during the eight-hour daily work periods.
Drivers should expect possible backups and delays when approaching the work zone. Plan extra time when traveling through the area or seek an alternate route when practical.
The bridge railing installation is part of a $9.3 million PennDOT project to improve and extend the life of the western section of the Coatesville Downingtown Bypass through Coatesville and Caln, Sadsbury, Valley and West Caln townships.
The broader project includes milling, base repairs, a bituminous overlay, edge-line rumble strips and new pavement markings.
Allan Myers Inc. of Worcester is the general contractor for the project, which is financed entirely with state funds.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
