Wilmington Man Arrested in Connection With Multiple Burglary Investigations

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been arrested in connection with two alleged burglary incidents that occurred earlier this month on North Union Street, according to city police.

Authorities said officers responded to the 300 block of North Union Street on October 9 at approximately 2:04 p.m. and again on October 19 at about 9:36 a.m. for reports of burglaries. The cases were assigned to Detective Avery Stewart of the Wilmington Police Criminal Investigations Division, who led the inquiry.

Through the course of the investigation, Detective Stewart identified 40-year-old Hector Burgos as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On October 21, police located Burgos near Elm and South Harrison Streets, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Burgos has been charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, one count of theft under $1,500, one count of attempted theft under $1,500, and one count of criminal mischief under $1,000. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further court proceedings.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
