EMBREEVILLE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police at the Embreeville barracks investigated a wide range of incidents across Chester County in late January, including alleged thefts, harassment and assault cases, child abuse reports, DUI arrests, and a series of motor vehicle crashes that resulted in injuries, property damage, and vehicles being towed.
Troopers reported an alleged “theft/disposition of funds” incident in Charlestown Township on January 29 at about 3 p.m. on Lady Kirby Lane. Police listed the property as money allegedly owed to Freedom Mortgage, WSFS Bank, and a Malvern-area victim, with a reported value of $46,551.00. Troopers said the investigation remains ongoing.
In West Bradford Township, troopers filed a harassment citation after a case reported at the Embreeville station on February 1 at about 4:57 p.m. Police allege a 22-year-old man from North East, Maryland, contacted a Coatesville-area victim and her daughter multiple times without a legitimate purpose beyond an alarm or annoyance. The citation was filed through Magisterial District Court 15-1-01, police said.
Troopers also documented a disorderly conduct case in Sadsbury Township on S. Harner Boulevard after a neighbor reported that a Coatesville woman made obscene gestures and shouted profanities while driving through the neighborhood. Police said she was cited for disorderly conduct. The release does not clearly state the incident date on that entry.
A separate alleged assault case dates back to December 23, 2025, at about 9:41 p.m. on U.S. Route 30 East in Caln Township. Police allege a Malvern man assaulted two victims while inside a vehicle, including striking one victim and grabbing the steering wheel, leading to the vehicle striking a guide rail. Troopers said the man was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and related offenses through Magisterial District Court 15-4-02.
Alcohol-related enforcement and investigations were also included. On January 29 at about 9:50 a.m., troopers reported a public drunkenness case in West Bradford Township after a man allegedly appeared at the barracks while visibly under the influence; police said a preliminary breath test indicated alcohol and a citation was filed through Magisterial District Court 15-1-01.
Two DUI arrests were also listed. In Caln Township, troopers said a woman from Coatesville was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a welfare check involving a disabled motorist on East Lincoln Highway and Toth Avenue; the entry does not clearly display the incident date. In Tredyffrin Township, troopers reported a traffic stop on January 5 on Swedesford Road near Valley Forge Road that resulted in the arrest of a Glenolden man, who police said was remanded to Chester County Prison.
The release also includes multiple investigations involving minors. Troopers reported receiving a ChildLine report on Monday, January 26, in Modena Borough regarding suspected abuse/neglect of a child, and a separate report dated January 20 in West Bradford Township involving a 15-year-old girl that was described as potential child abuse. Police said investigations were ongoing.
In South Coatesville Borough, troopers responded to a welfare check on Montclair Avenue involving a 76-year-old man and reported he was found deceased; that entry does not clearly show the incident date. In Honey Brook Township, troopers reported an 83-year-old man died of natural causes on Treeline Drive; that investigation was listed as closed, though the date is not clearly shown on that entry.
A string of crashes across the region was also documented, with several entries providing specific dates and times:
- January 30 at 10:56 a.m., a serious crash on the U.S. 202 bypass in East Whiteland Township in which a vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and the driver was transported to Paoli Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
- January 21 at 6:58 a.m., a crash on the Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass in Caln Township involving an alleged “following too closely” violation; a driver was later cited, police said.

- January 13 at 9:10 a.m., a crash at West Chester Road and Romansville Road in West Bradford Township involving an alleged stop-sign violation; one vehicle was towed and a citation was issued, police said.
Other cases listed include an identity theft report in West Bradford Township alleging a juvenile’s personal information was used to open a FAFSA account (listed as closed), a retail theft allegation in West Sadsbury Township involving $54 reportedly taken from a self-checkout area (listed as ongoing), and a criminal mischief case in South Coatesville Borough dated January 25 in which police allege a man threw eggs at a victim’s property and was cited via non-traffic citation.
