Philadelphia Man Arrested in Wilmington on Gun Charge

WILMINGTON, DE — A Philadelphia man was arrested by Wilmington Police on April 30, 2025, following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of a loaded firearm.

Officers from the Uniformed Services Division conducted the vehicle stop at approximately 9:28 p.m. on the 600 block of North Adams Street. During the interaction, police identified the driver as 31-year-old Banford Poole of Philadelphia. Following an investigation at the scene, authorities located a loaded 9mm handgun. Poole was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Poole has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon in addition to traffic violations. He was later arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, where he was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Officials emphasized that all charges against Poole are allegations at this stage, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
