WEST CHESTER, PA — On Friday, a jury convicted 44-year-old Darnell Davis of Philadelphia on possession with intent to deliver cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and related charges, announced the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

“Drug dealers who bring their poison into this county will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan. “We will not tolerate this criminal behavior and the horrendous impact it has on our community. We thank Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) for their efforts in keeping our county safe.”

The evidence presented at trial established that on August 26, 2020, at approximately 4:02 p.m., a PSP trooper initiated a traffic stop on PA Turnpike I-76 in the area of Tredyffrin Township after he observed a vehicle traveling 84 MPH in a 70 MPH zone.

The trooper detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle when he approached the driver, the only occupant of the car. The defendant informed the trooper that he did not have any form of identification with him and he was asked to step outside of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the trooper seized 240 bags of crack cocaine, 2 digital scales, and marijuana in the back seat.

The Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Davis. ADA Robert Goggin was the assigned prosecutor.
