OXFORD, PA — A local man has been charged with damaging a police vehicle. The accused, 39-year-old Derrick Andrew Lowe, was arrested following an incident that occurred on November 22, 2023.

According to reports from the Oxford Police Department (OPD), Lowe was provided a courtesy transport by the OPD on the day of the incident. Upon being dropped off on the 300 block of Nottingham Avenue, Lowe was observed allegedly using his vape pen to scrape into the police car doors, causing damage.

The alleged act of vandalism led to Lowe’s arrest on January 23, 2024. A preliminary hearing held at the Oxford District Court on January 24, 2024, resulted in the charges being upheld and sent to the Court of Common Pleas.

Nevertheless, it is important to note that all charges are merely allegations. As this case progresses, additional details may emerge. It should be emphasized that an arrest, a criminal complaint, or information does not constitute guilt. Lowe, like any suspect, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
