What Led to a Fatal Shooting on a Coatesville Street?

COATESVILLE, PA — A 23-year-old Coatesville man has been charged with criminal homicide following a fatal shooting Sunday night in the city, according to police.

The Coatesville Police Department reported that officers responded at approximately 8:39 p.m. Sunday to the 1000 block of Oak Street for a report of a shooting.

According to investigators, officers arriving at the scene found 23-year-old Skyy Zayas-Toney suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police said Zayas-Toney was transported to Paoli Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives continued their investigation and arrested 23-year-old Darrius Bolden on Monday in connection with the shooting, according to police. Authorities charged Bolden with criminal homicide and related offenses.

Court records show Bolden was arraigned, denied bail, and committed to Chester County Prison. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 10, according to investigators.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
