PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Philadelphia man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 52-year-old man in the city’s Germantown neighborhood, according to police.
Philadelphia police reported that officers responded at approximately 7:23 p.m. on June 10 to the 6100 block of Magnolia Street following a report of a person with a gun.
According to investigators, officers arrived to find 52-year-old Jerry Fulton suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police said officers transported Fulton to Jefferson Einstein Hospital for emergency treatment. He was pronounced dead at 7:49 p.m., according to authorities.
Investigators identified 26-year-old Neiko Nichols of Philadelphia as the suspect in the case. Police reported that Nichols was taken into custody at the scene.
According to police, Nichols has been charged with murder, possessing instruments of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.
