WYOMISSING, PA — Four people are facing burglary, theft, and related charges after investigators allegedly observed suspects breaking into a Berks County gas station during an investigation that began with the theft of Pennsylvania Skills machines from a Wyomissing business, according to police.
The investigation began Aug. 27 after the Kwik Stop at 1912 State Hill Road in Wyomissing was burglarized, police said. Pennsylvania Skills machines were allegedly taken from the business.
As the investigation progressed, Wyomissing police said detectives learned of similar burglaries at businesses throughout Berks County. Investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies shared information, identified patterns and developed suspects they believed were connected to the series of break-ins.
On Sept. 23, investigators observed suspects allegedly breaking into the Sunoco gas station at State Hill Road and Van Reed Road in Spring Township, according to police. Officers responded and took four people into custody.
Police identified those arrested as Daniel Valez, 43, of Reading; Tytoya Rowles, 46, of Laureldale; Adonis Orta Rivera, 41, of Reading; and Luis Miranda, 29, of Reading.
The four face charges including burglary, criminal trespass, theft, conspiracy, and related offenses, according to police.
The investigation involved the Wyomissing, West Reading, Spring Township, Shillington, Muhlenberg Township, Fleetwood and Reading police departments, along with Berks County Detectives and Pennsylvania State Police.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
