Police Seek Rider After Motorcycle Flees Traffic Stop

WEST READING, PA — West Reading police are asking for the public’s help identifying a motorcyclist who allegedly fled from officers during an attempted traffic stop last month.

According to the West Reading Police Department, officers attempted to stop a blue-and-black motorcycle for alleged careless driving at approximately 7 p.m. on May 27 in the 500 block of Penn Avenue.

Police reported that the rider did not stop and fled the area before officers could complete the traffic stop.

Investigators described the motorcycle as appearing to be a Yamaha naked-style sport bike. Police said the rider is believed to be a thin male with short black hair, a black mustache and beard, and tattoos on his left arm and left leg.

Authorities are seeking information that could help identify the rider or the motorcycle involved.

Anyone with information is asked to submit an anonymous tip through the West Reading Police Department’s online tip portal, contact Crime Alert Berks County at 1-877-373-9913, or text a tip to 847411 beginning the message with “ALERTBERKS” followed by the information.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
