Police Say Burglary Suspect Was Caught Escaping Lansdowne Home

LANSDOWNE, PA — East Lansdowne Police Department said a man accused of burglarizing a residence in Lansdowne was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attempting to flee officers during a coordinated police response.

According to investigators, East Lansdowne police were dispatched at about 1:23 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, to the 200 block of Lewis Avenue for a reported burglary in progress.

Police said officers from East Lansdowne, Lansdowne, and Upper Darby established a perimeter around the residence before conducting a search of the home.

During the search, investigators alleged officers discovered Ramar Morgan, 45, attempting to escape from the side of the residence.

According to police, Morgan was allegedly found in possession of jewelry, radiator coils, and burglary tools taken from inside the home.

Morgan was charged with burglary residential, possession of an instrument of crime, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass-break into structure.

Investigators also said Morgan was wanted on two unrelated warrants at the time of his arrest.

Police said Morgan was committed to Delaware County Prison pending formal arraignment before Magisterial District Court 32-2-51.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
