Police Renew Plea for Clues in Fatal Claymont Shooting

CLAYMONT, DE — New Castle County police are renewing their call for information in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Amir Reynolds, nearly three months after he was found wounded in a Woodstream Garden Apartments roadway.

According to the New Castle County Division of Police, officers responded to the 900 block of Peachtree Road at approximately 4:17 p.m. June 6 following a report of a shooting.

Police reported that responding officers found Reynolds in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. Officers provided emergency aid until medical personnel arrived, according to police.

Reynolds was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries, authorities reported.

Police continue to investigate Reynolds’ death as a homicide. Authorities have not provided information identifying a suspect or describing the circumstances that preceded the shooting.
