PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Philadelphia man pleaded guilty Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to robbery and firearm charges tied to a series of armored truck robberies and attempted robberies in the region, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf said.
Dante Shackleford, 26, entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer on one count of Hobbs Act robbery, three counts of attempted Hobbs Act robbery, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
According to court filings, Shackleford and others were involved in four incidents, including attempted robberies of Brinks trucks in Philadelphia on July 15 and October 3, 2025, and in Elkins Park on July 22, 2025, as well as a completed robbery in Elkins Park on August 12, 2025.
Shackleford was charged by superseding indictment in January alongside co-defendant Mujahid Davis, 24, also of Philadelphia.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 11 and faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of seven years, along with up to five years of supervised release and a $1,500,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert Eckert and Kwambina Coker.
