HARRISBURG, PA — A Lackawanna County man was sentenced this week to five to 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said.

Lucas E. Kelsey, of Moosic, was sentenced Tuesday by a Lackawanna County judge to 5 to 10 years in prison, followed by six years of probation, according to the Office of Attorney General.

Kelsey pleaded guilty in October to felony charges filed last year by the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.

Authorities said agents executed a search warrant at Kelsey’s home in March 2025 and recovered 201 files of child sexual abuse material stored on hard drives.

Under the sentence, Kelsey will be required to register with law enforcement for 15 years following his release from prison.

“Possessing child sexual abuse material is not a victimless crime, and this prosecution and sentence should make clear the severity of this heinous conduct,” Sunday said in a statement. “Downloading and viewing this material is child abuse.”
