Night Crash, Retail Theft, and Arrests Unfold Across Chester County

AVONDALE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police in Avondale reported multiple incidents across Chester County in recent days, including crashes, thefts, and arrests, according to official reports.

According to police, on Monday, April 21 at approximately 11:31 p.m., a crash occurred on Jennersville Road north of Phillips Mill Road in Londonderry Township. Investigators said a Kia Sorento traveling at a high rate of speed allegedly failed to negotiate a left curve, left the roadway, struck a utility wire, and overturned multiple times before coming to rest in a grassy field. Police reported the 49-year-old driver fled the scene but was later located at Paoli Hospital with unknown injuries.

Earlier that day at approximately 5:00 p.m., troopers responded to West Sherry Lane in London Grove Township for a report of a natural death, where police said a subject was found deceased. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police also reported a separate natural death investigation on April 19 at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Diana Circle in West Nottingham Township. Authorities said troopers responded and the investigation is ongoing.

On April 18 at approximately 2:20 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a Wawa in the 700 block of Gap Newport Pike in London Grove Township for a retail theft. Police said an unidentified suspect allegedly took merchandise without paying before leaving the store.

Authorities reported multiple crashes throughout the region. On April 18 at approximately 9:40 p.m., a crash occurred in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen on West Baltimore Pike in Penn Township when a vehicle allegedly backed into a parked car. No injuries were reported.

On April 17 at approximately 4:29 p.m., troopers responded to Red Lion Road near Marlboro Road in Pocopson Township for a two-vehicle crash. Police said both drivers sustained suspected minor injuries, and one was transported to a hospital.

Another crash occurred April 10 at approximately 1:27 p.m. on Limestone Road in Lower Oxford Township. Investigators reported a vehicle allegedly lost control while avoiding a deer, crossed the roadway, and collided with another vehicle. One driver was transported for suspected injuries.

Police said on April 9 at approximately 4:00 p.m., troopers in Franklin Township took a 54-year-old woman into custody after discovering she was wanted by Virginia State Police. Authorities reported she was transported to Chester County Prison without incident.

On April 6 at approximately 4:13 a.m., troopers responded to a business in the 800 block of East Baltimore Pike in East Marlborough Township for a reported false alarm.

Police also investigated a crash on April 6 at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Limestone Road in Highland Township, where a box truck allegedly struck a deer in the roadway, causing significant damage.

On March 25, police investigated an identity theft case on Rushford Place in London Grove Township. Authorities said an unknown suspect allegedly used a victim’s personal information to open a bank account and deposit a fraudulent check.

Troopers also reported a domestic incident on March 15 at approximately 7:46 p.m. in the 10 block of Londonderry Court in Londonderry Township. Police said a simple assault was determined to have occurred, and an individual was taken into custody.

On March 14 at approximately 4:03 p.m., troopers responded to Newark Road at Baltimore Pike in Upper Oxford Township for a two-vehicle crash. Police said one driver sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported for treatment.

Another crash on March 14 at approximately 9:49 p.m. on Freedom Rider Trail in Thornbury Township involved a vehicle striking a deer and leaving the scene before returning. No injuries were reported.

Authorities also reported a theft on March 10 at approximately 5:16 p.m. on Fieldstone Drive in Londonderry Township, where a victim allegedly deposited $6,800 in Bitcoin into an unknown account following a scam.

On March 7 at approximately 10:30 a.m., troopers responded to the 2000 block of Lauren Lane in Oxford Borough for a reported harassment incident involving a minor.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
