KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A Kennett Square man faces kidnapping and other charges after police alleged he held another man at knifepoint inside a locked vehicle and forced him to drive to Toughkenamon to buy alcohol.
According to the Kennett Square Police Department, the incident began at approximately 1:29 a.m. July 25 in the 300 block of Harvey Circle.
Police allege Edgar Hernandez-Jacobo, 27, locked the vehicle’s doors, threatened the victim with a knife and forced him to drive to Toughkenamon to purchase alcohol.
After the incident, officers spent several hours attempting to contact Hernandez-Jacobo at his residence, police reported. He was later taken into custody and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison.
Hernandez-Jacobo was charged with kidnapping, possessing instruments of crime, simple assault, harassment, theft by extortion, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and related offenses. The charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
