PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Warminster man with a prior conviction for crimes against a child was sentenced Friday to 240 months in federal prison after admitting to downloading and collecting thousands of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of minors, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that 52-year-old Michael Hochman received the 20-year prison term and a subsequent 10 years of supervised release from U.S. District Judge Kelley Brisbon Hodge. Hochman pleaded guilty in June to one count of receipt of child pornography following an information filed by federal prosecutors.
According to federal authorities, investigators discovered that Hochman had amassed a vast quantity of child sexual abuse material. His history also played a significant role in the case. In 2002, Hochman was convicted in Kansas of aggravated indecent liberties with a child after communicating online with a 13-year-old girl, persuading her to produce explicit images, and traveling to meet her, where he engaged in sexual acts with the child on multiple occasions. He was sentenced to 55 months in prison in that case.
The latest federal investigation was conducted by FBI Philadelphia’s Fort Washington Resident Agency. Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella prosecuted the case.
Hochman will serve his sentence within the federal Bureau of Prisons before beginning his decade of supervised release.
