WEST CHESTER, PA — Four people have been charged in connection with a deadly shooting during homecoming festivities at Lincoln University that left one person dead and several others injured, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and Chester County Detectives.
William Sells, 20, Karon Rollins, 17, and Makaveli Valera, 19, all of Wilmington, Delaware, were charged this week with second-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy, and related offenses tied to the October 2025 shooting on campus, investigators said. Authorities said Rollins is being prosecuted as an adult.
A fourth defendant, Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson, who had previously been arrested on a firearms charge in October 2025, was additionally charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person related to the shooting, according to investigators.
Police said the shooting happened around 9:08 p.m. on October 25, 2025, near the parking lot of the International Cultural Center building during homecoming events that drew several thousand people to campus.
According to the criminal complaint, gunfire erupted in the parking lot, prompting a large emergency response from law enforcement agencies and first responders across the region.
Investigators said seven people were shot, including Sells. Authorities said Jujuan Jeffers suffered a gunshot wound to the head and later died from his injuries.
According to Chester County Detectives, the investigation determined that Sells, Rollins, and Valera allegedly traveled to the university armed and carried out robberies targeting attendees during the festivities. Investigators alleged the suspects stole jewelry and other valuables from victims before the shooting occurred.
Detectives said investigators used public tips, Instagram posts and direct messages, text messages, photographs, and videos to place the defendants at the university and allegedly connect them to the robberies.
Authorities also alleged that when Wilmington police arrested Rollins on January 3, 2026, he was in possession of a chain and pendant reported stolen during one of the homecoming robberies.
All three defendants are currently being held in Delaware pending extradition to Pennsylvania, according to authorities.
The Chester County Detectives are leading the investigation with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, Wilmington Police Department, Delaware State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
