PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are searching for a man accused of forcing his way into a South Philadelphia home before fleeing after a struggle with the resident.
Police said surveillance video captured the suspect in the area of 20th and Morris streets at approximately 6:20 a.m. Sept. 11. Investigators said the man was seen looking into homes and walking through nearby alleys for about 10 minutes.
According to police, the suspect then saw a resident taking out the trash and approached the home. Police allege he forced his way through the front door, leading to a struggle with the victim.
The victim fought off the intruder, who fled without taking any property, according to police.
Philadelphia police are asking anyone with information about the suspect or the alleged home invasion to contact the South Detective Division at 215-686-3013 or 215-686-3014 and reference case number DC 26-17-027635.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
