Hatboro Police Seek Man in Alleged Firearm Purchase Fraud

HATBORO, PA — Hatboro police are seeking a 48-year-old man accused of providing false information while attempting to purchase a firearm at a local gun shop.

Police identified the wanted man as Ely Diaz-Jimenez.

According to police, the investigation began June 29 after Pennsylvania State Police provided information about a person who had allegedly supplied false information during an attempted firearm purchase.

Hatboro police said their investigation determined Diaz-Jimenez allegedly provided false information while attempting to purchase a firearm at Continental Armory, 9 S. York Road.

Police obtained an arrest warrant Aug. 27 through District Court 38-1-22.

Diaz-Jimenez is charged with one felony count related to the sale or transfer of firearms and one misdemeanor count of unsworn falsification to authorities, according to police.

Anyone with information about Diaz-Jimenez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Hatboro Police Department.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
