HATBORO, PA — A 48-year-old man has been arrested after Hatboro police alleged he provided false information while attempting to purchase a firearm.
Police said the investigation began June 29 after the Pennsylvania State Police provided information about an individual suspected of giving false information during an attempted firearm purchase.
Hatboro police subsequently investigated and identified the man as Ely Diaz-Jimenez, 48. Investigators allege Diaz-Jimenez provided false information while attempting to purchase the firearm.
Police obtained a criminal arrest warrant on Aug. 27 from Magisterial District Judge Paul Stephens under docket number MJ-38122-CR-0000148-2026.
Diaz-Jimenez turned himself in to Hatboro police on Sept. 22 and was arrested, according to police.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
