BROOMALL, PA — An Exton man has been charged after police investigated what they described as alarming social media posts directed at St. Pius X School in Marple Township.
According to the Marple Township Police Department, 37-year-old Cristopher Henderson of Exton was arrested on June 9 and charged with felony terroristic threats.
Police reported that the investigation began after authorities became aware of social media posts allegedly directed toward St. Pius X, located on South Lawrence Road in Broomall.
According to police, Henderson was taken into custody and was awaiting arraignment when the department issued an initial public update. As a precaution, officers maintained a presence at the school through the end of the school day Tuesday, police said.
Court records cited by police show Henderson was arraigned and committed to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post $500,000 cash bail. Police stated that the court also ordered Henderson to undergo a psychological evaluation and prohibited him from entering Marple Township except for court-related matters.
The investigation remains under the jurisdiction of the Marple Township Police Department.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
