Chester Man Jailed After Drug, Gun Raid Spurs Felony Charges

TRAINER, PA — A Chester man is facing felony drug and firearms charges following a joint narcotics investigation by the Trainer Borough Police Department and the Delaware County Drug Task Force.

According to Trainer Borough police, detectives developed information during the investigation indicating that Solomon Edward Carter, 45, was allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics in Delaware County.

Based on the investigation, detectives obtained search warrants for a residence in the City of Chester and a vehicle associated with Carter, police said.

Authorities executed the court-authorized search warrants on June 30 and took Carter into custody without incident.

According to investigators, the searches resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, marijuana, evidence consistent with narcotics trafficking, a firearm, ammunition and U.S. currency.

Police further alleged that Carter was prohibited from possessing firearms under Pennsylvania law, resulting in additional felony firearms charges.

Carter was charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Court records show Carter was arraigned June 30 before Magisterial District Judge David Griffin, who set bail at $150,000.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
