HIGHLAND TWP, PA — Parkesburg Borough Police are searching for a Chester County man wanted on felony charges following a police pursuit earlier this week in Highland Township.
According to police, an arrest warrant was issued for 44-year-old Helbert E. Mercado after a pursuit that occurred May 19.
Investigators alleged Mercado was observed operating an orange 2011 Mazda CX-9 while his driver’s license was suspended.
Police reported officers attempted a traffic stop, but Mercado allegedly fled at a high rate of speed.
According to investigators, Mercado allegedly nearly caused a crash during the pursuit and placed other motorists at risk before escaping.
Police said Mercado remains actively wanted on felony fleeing and related charges.
Investigators described Mercado as a Hispanic male standing approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
