PHILADELPHIA, PA — A federal judge on Tuesday sentenced Hayden Laubach of Bath, Pennsylvania, to 12 months and one day in prison for possessing unregistered firearms and a silencer uncovered during a 2025 traffic stop.
U.S. District Judge John M. Gallagher also ordered Laubach, 36, to serve three years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Laubach was charged by information in April and pleaded guilty in May to one count of possessing nonregistered firearms.
Bushkill Township police stopped Laubach’s Toyota 4Runner on Sept. 19, 2025, for an expired registration and suspended license, according to court filings and statements cited by prosecutors.
A subsequent search produced 9 mm, .223-caliber and shotgun ammunition; loaded AR-15 magazines; two privately made firearms; a short-barreled shotgun; an AR-style short-barreled rifle; and a silencer.
Prosecutors said Laubach had no current or approved applications authorizing him to possess the unregistered firearms or silencer.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Bushkill Township Police Department investigated the case with assistance from the Bethlehem Police Department Bomb Squad. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Dimmig prosecuted the case.
