PHILADELPHIA, PA — ZeroEyes has added specialty insurance executive David Macpherson as a strategic adviser for risk and insurance as the weapons-detection company expands into risk-management, crisis-response, and alternative financing programs tied to firearm-related threats.
Macpherson will advise ZeroEyes on insurance strategy, alternative risk financing, customer risk-management programs and relationships with global insurers, the company said.
The move broadens ZeroEyes’ focus beyond its human-verified visual firearm detection platform, which is designed to identify potential active threats and deliver real-time intelligence to support response efforts.
The company has also launched the Harborwatch Association, an affiliated membership organization initially serving PK-12 institutions that use ZeroEyes technology. The group is intended to provide preparedness, response, and resilience resources, along with crisis-management and risk-financing support for qualifying firearm-related events.
Macpherson is head of specialty at C J Coleman and has more than 20 years of experience developing insurance programs for large organizations. His background includes active-assailant coverage, geopolitical risk and other emerging exposures.
“Human-verified threat detection, delivered in real time, can support better risk management, more effective crisis response and new approaches to financing weapons-related risk,” Macpherson said.
In the advisory role, Macpherson will help ZeroEyes develop loss-control and risk-management resources, evaluate insurance and alternative financing applications, expand Harborwatch-related initiatives and build commercial insurance relationships.
