Wilmington Police Issue Urgent Gold Alert for Missing 14-year-old Boy

WILMINGTON, DE — An urgent plea for public assistance has been issued by the Wilmington Police Department, following the disappearance of 14-year-old Maurice Cooper. A Gold Alert, typically used in Delaware to indicate a missing person with a physical, mental, or cognitive disability, has been activated.

Maurice was last seen on March 5th, at approximately 8:00 a.m., in the 500 block of Rodman Street. Described as a black male, Maurice stands tall at 6’0” and weighs about 145 lbs. On the day of his disappearance, he was seen wearing a black bubble jacket, a black sweatshirt, and black sweatpants.

In these worrying and uncertain times, the community’s help is invaluable. Anyone who may have seen Maurice, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is urged to contact the Wilmington Police Department immediately at 302-654-5151.
