Wilmington Police Arrest Man on Robbery Charges Following Porch Theft Incident

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department announced the arrest of a man on charges of robbery and theft. The arrest followed an incident in which the accused was allegedly involved in a physical altercation after stealing a package from a front porch.

The incident unfolded on September 26 at approximately 1:57 p.m. Officers from the Uniformed Services Division were present in the 200 block of West 18th Street when they witnessed two individuals engaged in a physical dispute. Upon intervention, the officers discovered that the altercation was sparked by an alleged theft.

The victim claimed that the accused, 32-year-old Antonio Earsel, had removed a package from their front porch. Upon confrontation by the victim, a physical altercation ensued. Earsel was subsequently taken into custody without any further incidents, and the stolen package was recovered.

Following his arrest, Earsel has been formally charged with second-degree robbery and theft under $1,500. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and has been committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $4,000 secured bail.
