Wilmington Police Arrest Man on Drug Charges

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following an investigation.

Authorities state that on July 16 at approximately 1:27 p.m. members of the city’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the area of A Street and New Castle Avenue.  Police observed 27-year-old Michael Bacon engaged in drug activity.  Bacon left the area before police were able to make contact with him.  Police recovered 6.1 grams of cocaine, 151.5 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  A warrant for Bacon’s arrest was issued and he was taken into custody without incident on July 21.

Bacon was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $22,600 unsecured bail.
