WHYY to Host Democratic Primary Debate for PA 3rd District

PHILADELPHIA, PA — WHYY will host a Democratic primary debate for Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District on Wednesday, April 29, offering voters an opportunity to hear from leading candidates ahead of the May primary election.

The debate will take place at WHYY’s studios and air live from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., with candidates outlining policy positions and responding to questions on key issues facing the district.

Participating candidates include State Rep. Chris Rabb, Dr. Ala Stanford, and State Sen. Sharif Street. No Republican candidates are on the ballot in the district’s primary.

The event will be moderated by WHYY Studio 2 co-hosts Avi Wolfman-Arent and Cherri Gregg and broadcast on WHYY-FM 90.9, streamed live on WHYY’s YouTube channel, and rebroadcast on WHYY-TV at 7 p.m.

Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District includes neighborhoods across Philadelphia, including West Philadelphia, Manayunk, Roxborough, Andorra, Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, Oak Lane, and much of Center City.

The debate comes ahead of the Pennsylvania primary election scheduled for Tuesday, May 19.
