YARDLEY, PA — United Airlines, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, TAP Air Portugal and iGA İstanbul Airport were among the repeat winners in WhereverFamily’s ninth annual reader-voted awards, reflecting traveler preferences across airlines, hotels, destinations, cruises and other family-travel categories.
United Airlines won Best Family-Friendly Airline in North America for the third consecutive year, while its MileagePlus program was named Best Family-Friendly Frequent-Flyer Program for a seventh straight year.
Alaska Airlines took Best Family-Friendly Domestic Airline for the second consecutive year. TAP Air Portugal won Best Family-Friendly International Airline, also for a second straight year.
Marriott Hotels & Resorts was named Best Family-Friendly Hotel Chain for the fifth consecutive year, earning what WhereverFamily calls “Quint Status” for five straight wins in the same category.
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts won Best Family-Friendly Resort Chain for the second year in a row, while Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas took Best Family-Friendly Individual Hotel. Hilton Honors won Best Family-Friendly Frequent-Stay Program.
Princess Cruises captured Best Family-Friendly Cruise Line and Best Family-Friendly Cruise Line Kids Club, both for the second consecutive year. Seabourn Cruises won Best Family-Friendly MultiGen Cruise Line for the second straight year.
Fiji was named Best Family-Friendly International Destination, while Tampa Bay, Florida, won the domestic destination category. The Bahamas took Best Family-Friendly Caribbean Island/Destination.
Greece won Best Family-Friendly Multigenerational Destination of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania, was named Best Family-Friendly Amusement Park, while Great Wolf Lodge won Best Family-Friendly Waterpark for the second straight year.
Among airports, Tampa International Airport won Best Family-Friendly Domestic Airport. iGA İstanbul Airport took Best Family-Friendly International Airport for the fifth consecutive year, also earning Quint Status.
Chicago O’Hare International Airport won Best Family-Friendly Airport Dining, while Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport took Best Family-Friendly Airport Shopping for the sixth consecutive year.
Hertz was named Best Family-Friendly Rental Car Company for the second straight year. National Geographic Family Journeys won Best Family-Friendly Domestic Tour Company for the fourth consecutive year, while Abercrombie & Kent won the international tour category for the second straight year.
The publication also named its fifth annual Family Innovators of the Year. Lufthansa won for airline, Kempinski Hotels for hotel, Nickelodeon Resorts for resort, Enterprise Rent-A-Car for rental car, Costco Travel for travel provider, Poland for destination and Lindblad Expeditions for cruise line.
