PHILADELPHIA, PAWeckerly’s Ice Cream is expanding its footprint with the grand opening of a new scoop shop in Rittenhouse. Located at 1600 Spruce Street, the shop will officially open its doors on Friday, May 9, with a celebration from 6 to 9 p.m.

To mark the occasion, Weckerly’s will offer free scoops, a limited-edition pint koozie for the first 50 guests, and complimentary flowers for customers and their mothers in honor of Mother’s Day weekend (while supplies last).

The event will also feature an exclusive debut of a new ice cream sandwich, the Saffron Rosewater Pistachio Sandwich, which layers saffron rosewater ice cream with pistachio ice cream, a rosewater strawberry jam swirl, pistachio praline, and pistachio cookies.

The Rittenhouse location continues the brand’s tradition of artisanal small-batch creations. Offering up to 24 rotating flavors, signature ice cream sandwiches, and to-go pints, the shop also introduces several firsts for the company, including a coffee and tea program in collaboration with Brandywine Coffee Roasters, vegan ice cream options, and a soft serve program.

“Expanding to Rittenhouse is an exciting milestone for Weckerly’s,” said Cristina Torres, CEO and Owner of Weckerly’s. “Our focus remains on crafting the best product from scratch and fostering joy and connection through our ice cream.”

Since launching its Fishtown scoop shop in 2012, Weckerly’s has been dedicated to small-batch production using premium, natural ingredients. Its expansion includes a King of Prussia Mall location that opened in September 2024. With the Rittenhouse opening, the brand continues to grow while maintaining its artisanal approach to ice cream.

Come celebrate at Weckerly’s newest home in Rittenhouse and enjoy their handcrafted flavors, reimagined for the heart of the city.
