UPPER CHICHESTER TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a new traffic pattern will begin the week of October 20 on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Upper Chichester Township as part of the $99.4 million Section 103 reconstruction and widening project.
Crews will implement the shift overnight from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, reducing U.S. 322 to one lane in each direction between Cherry Tree Road/Bethel Avenue and Route 452 (Market Street). This configuration will remain in place during Stage 2 construction, which includes new roadway and bridge work on the south side of the highway.
Existing lane restrictions on U.S. 322, Route 452, and Bethel Avenue will continue through 2026. PennDOT advises motorists to expect delays and allow extra time for travel. All work is weather dependent.
