PHILADELPHIA, PA — Jazz guitar virtuoso Kurt Rosenwinkel and Swiss pianist Jean-Paul Brodbeck unveil their latest collaboration The Brahms Project with a live performance at Chris’ Jazz Café on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Featuring two sets at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., the event marks the Philadelphia debut of their new digital album, released May 2 on Heartcore Records.

After the success of The Chopin Project, Rosenwinkel and Brodbeck have turned their attention to reinterpreting the works of Johannes Brahms. The new album showcases ten inventive arrangements by Brodbeck, blending Brahms’ intricate harmonies, polyrhythms, and melodies with the ensemble’s jazz improvisations. The quartet includes bassist Lukas Traxel and drummer Jorge Rossy, whose rhythmic versatility adds depth to these reimagined classics.
