BRISTOL, PA — TESCO Metering announced the release of its Model 749 Utility Meter Storage Rack, designed to improve storage, organization, and handling of electric meters in utility shops and warehouse environments.
The company said the rack is intended to address common challenges in managing large volumes of meters used in testing, repair, and deployment operations.
The Model 749 rack can hold up to 72 electric meters and support a total load capacity of 300 pounds, according to TESCO.
The rack features a dual-sided design and is constructed from steel, with four casters that allow it to be moved between work areas.
TESCO said the system is designed to replace temporary storage methods such as cardboard packaging and shelving that can create inefficiencies and increase handling risks.
“Electric utilities need practical solutions to organize and safely manage the large number of meters moving through their testing and deployment processes,” said Tom Lawton, president and chief executive officer of TESCO Metering.
“The Model 749 Meter Rack provides a durable storage system that improves meter handling safety, simplifies inventory staging, and helps meter shop personnel maintain an organized workspace,” Lawton said.
The company said the rack is intended for use by meter technicians, warehouse staff, and utility personnel involved in meter testing and deployment programs.
TESCO said the product is part of its broader portfolio of meter shop equipment, which includes testing systems, diagnostic tools, and engineering services aimed at supporting utility operations.
