UPLAND, PA — The Upland Borough Police Department announced the arrest of 21-year-old Jermaine Rollins on gun charges.

Authorities stated that on February 26th at 1:06 am, Officer Lawrence Hanna conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Upland Avenue and 22nd Street. Upon making contact with the two passengers, Officer Hanna observed an upright AR-15 rifle between the driver’s and passenger’s seats directly behind the center console. In addition to the weapon, two spent cartridges were located on the floor of the vehicle. Having information that neighboring Chester City Police had received numerous calls for shots fired in the area recently, Hanna and assisting officers removed Rollins from the vehicle and placed him under arrest.

Rollins was arraigned and posted bail set at 10% of $10,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 9, 2023, before Magisterial District Judge Georgia Stone.

Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
