LANGHORNE, PA — SIV Ambulances is committing $20 million to expand ambulance manufacturing in Pennsylvania, including a new production facility, additional workers, and greater inventory and equipment capacity as the company moves deeper into manufacturing with two Ford Transit models.
The company is introducing the SIV Responder, built on a medium-roof Ford Transit, and the Responder XL, which uses the high-roof version. Both are Type II ambulances.
SIV spent 2026 developing its Type II manufacturing operation and putting the Responder into production, according to the company. The expansion plan is intended to increase capacity beyond its existing manufacturing operations.
The investment includes a new purpose-built ambulance manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, expanded chassis and parts inventories, additional production equipment, and workforce growth. Architectural and civil engineering plans for the facility are being finalized.
SIV said the expansion will create jobs in Pennsylvania, though the company did not specify a projected employment total.
“We’re putting $20 million behind the future of SIV,” Chief Executive Officer Sergio Siv stated. “We’re investing in people, inventory, production and a new manufacturing home.”
The manufacturing push builds on SIV’s existing ambulance business, including more than 500 completed remounts, a process that involves rebuilding ambulance bodies and systems for continued service.
Siv said that work exposed the company to designs, electrical systems, components and equipment from multiple manufacturers, giving its employees experience integrating new and existing systems.
“Every ambulance is different,” Siv said. “You’re dealing with different manufacturers, different electrical systems, discontinued components, parts that break during disassembly, new equipment that has to integrate with old systems, and customer changes throughout the process.”
SIV also worked with EMS agencies while developing the Responder models, according to the company.
“We built the team, developed the process, and put the Responder into production,” Mark Poberezhnyuk, president of SIV’s Type II Division, noted. “Now we’re ready to scale.”
