CLAYMONT, DE — ShowMojo has integrated Property Shield into its leasing platform to monitor rental listings for fraud, impersonation, and unauthorized use, aiming to help property managers identify threats before incidents occur.
The integration adds continuous monitoring of online listings, social platforms, and marketplaces to detect duplicate listings, fake advertisements, and brand misuse within ShowMojo’s system.
Fraud in rental listings has increased, with one in five listings estimated to have fraudulent duplicates, contributing to risks such as trespassing and property damage. The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported nearly $200 million in rental fraud losses in 2024, with individual incidents costing close to $10,000.
Alerts generated by Property Shield appear alongside leasing activity in ShowMojo, allowing property managers to review flagged activity and take action within existing workflows.
Property Shield monitors nearly 400,000 properties nationwide and has removed more than one million fraudulent listings over the past two years.
Vanessa Anderson, chief executive officer of ShowMojo, said the integration is intended to shift fraud detection earlier in the process, allowing managers to act before incidents occur.
The platform also incorporates fraud detection into existing access control and screening features, eliminating the need for separate tools or manual review processes.
The companies said the system is designed to reduce exposure to financial and operational risks associated with fraudulent listings while improving visibility into misuse of property data.
