Route 222 Lane Closure Could Complicate Your Weekend Drive

WEST EARL TWP, PA — A northbound Route 222 lane will close for the entire weekend near the Route 772 Brownstown/Rothsville interchange as crews repair the bridge over North Church Street in West Earl Township.

The right northbound through lane will close between the left travel lane and the far-right acceleration lane carrying traffic from Route 772 onto Route 222.

Drivers should plan extra time, expect delays, and use caution when approaching the interchange throughout the weekend.

Before the northbound restriction begins, the far-right southbound deceleration lane serving the Route 772 exit will remain closed until 6:00 AM Friday, September 18. Two southbound through lanes and the Brownstown/Rothsville off-ramp will remain open.

The work is part of an $8.5 million pavement preservation project covering 3.3 miles of Route 222 in Manheim, Warwick, and West Earl townships. The project includes resurfacing, milling, base repairs, concrete patching, guiderail improvements, line painting, and sign updates.
