BRECKNOCK TWP, PA — Motorists traveling through northern Lancaster County should prepare for daytime lane restrictions and possible slowdowns next week as PennDOT crews conduct bridge inspections over Route 222 near Adamstown Borough.

PennDOT said inspection crews will examine the Bowmansville Road bridge structures spanning Route 222 in Brecknock Township using an inspection crane operating from the roadway.
On Wednesday, May 27, a northbound right lane restriction will be in place on Route 222 from 9:00 AM to noon. A southbound right lane restriction will follow from noon to 3:00 PM.
Additional restrictions are scheduled for Thursday, May 28. PennDOT said the northbound left lane on Route 222 will close from 9:00 AM to noon, followed by a southbound left lane restriction from noon to 3:00 PM.
Drivers traveling through the corridor should expect intermittent slowdowns and changing traffic patterns during inspection operations. Plan extra time and use caution when approaching the work zone.
